Possibly our favourite stay of our holiday. Defintely best bed and pillows. Great location. So close to the fish markets over the road where I had tuna sushi to dream of! The room was just big enough for two. We could just nip down to the lobby and get good coffee from the machine anytime. Great value as well.

The car park is a bit of a walk...especially in the rain with a South American partner who takes hair very seriously. :)

The location was ideal to get to all the major sightseeing sports. There were plenty of restaurants nearby and the bus stops were very close. We appreciated the excellent isolation as we didn't hear any of the street noise so we slept very well. The breakfast was also excellent - best we had in Japan.

Rooms are small. If you have more than day bags, you’ll be tripping over each other to get around the double bed which pretty much takes up the entire space. But this isn’t unusual for Japan.

The location was great and the room was spacious, the biggest I stayed in during my two weeks in Japan. Kanazawa was a lovely city and thus was a great hotel to have as a home base.

Staff were not very friendly compared to three of the other hotels I stayed at in Japan.

The smoking room is next to the elevator. This means that it is impossible to dodge the smell of cigarettes on your way to the bedrooms

Absolutely nothing

Clean. Cleaning staff work diligently and do an exceptional job.

They had an incense going all the time in the lobby that had a cloyingly strong smell. We would rush through the lobby as much as possible. We could have breakfast downstairs in the restaurant. However, it was the same offerings each day; no variety.

It was a very nice neat comfortable stay. It was aesthetically pleasing. Location was good, very close to the market, and the castle. It was also easy to walk to the old town area and the station. There was also a loop bus that passed the hotel. Very convenient overall. There is also a nice department store very close by. The coffee with gold leaf at reception was a nice touch. Breakfast was simple but very good with many options. Great choice.

Nothing really. Reception area and breakfast area was snug but was fine for our needs.

Very comfortable, good location and loved all the amenities including the pajamas. We enjoyed the convenience of an Italian restaurant downstairs.

Great location close to the main tourist locations in Kanazawa (15 min by foot to all places). Is a nice and cozy hotel.

Comfortable clean rooms . Service staff all friendly and helpful. Coffee all day a plus. Conveniently located within walking distance to all activities.

Cold water and LATTES in lobby very welcome. Lobby decor was truly PLEASANT. Location in relation to station (appx. 14 min.), fish market (where we ate most frequently; 5 min.), castle park and orange Loop bus was GREAT! Front desk staff courteous and helpful. Room had what was needed and instructions in English for the thermostat, quite welcome. Room (#218) never had unpleasant noises from hall or other rooms (although could hear someone WAS above us one of the two nights) we stayed.

Bed, although spacious enough for two medium size seniors, required that one person crawl over to the other to get to the bathroom. There was, however, enough room for 2 small suitcases to be open.

Hotel is centrally located for easy walking to the major sites in Kanazawa. There are a large number of nearby restaurant options along with the seafood market that also has a huge number of food outlets. The castle is an easy walking distance and other major sites a 15 to 20 minute walk away. There are all the main convenience stores within a block and the train station is a short, easy walk from the hotel as well. Breakfast had reasonable variety, though gets crowded and would be helpful if they could begin at 6:30 vs. 7:00 given some sites open at 7:00am.

There is some road noise in the rooms. Also, there is a bit of over-communication at check-in - they hand you a sheet that gives a lot of detail. The most important bits get missed unless you spend the time to ready in detail - might be better to have a sheet that just outlines the one or two most important such as keeping bathroom door closed while showering to not set off fire alarm.
